Looking for a cat that’s “been around the litter box?” Throughout the summer months, we are waiving the adoption fee for all sophisticated cats, 6 years or older in an effort to find homes for hundreds of homeless cats.

Celebrating centennial with a 100-cent adoption special for adult cats
One hundred years will be celebrated with a 100-cent special at the Dumb Friends League! The region’s largest animal welfare agency will offer one-dollar adoption fees for all cats, 1 year or older, from September 7 to September 12.
“We are commemorating 100 years of services to pets and people in our community,” said Bob Rohde, the president and CEO for the Dumb Friends League. “There is no better way to celebrate than finding homes for hundreds of homeless pets.”
The five-day adoption special takes place at both shelter locations—the Quebec Street shelter in Denver and the Buddy Center in Castle Rock. Each cat's adoption fee includes a spay/neuter surgery, initial vaccinations, microchip ID implant and registration, a 15-day health program and a free initial office visit with a participating veterinarian.
“By choosing to adopt, you get a great deal financially,” said Rohde, who has served as president for more than 37 years. “But, more importantly, you help save an animal’s life and take home a wonderful companion that will bring such joy to your life.”
