The holiday season is upon us, and as the lists come together for gift giving, take a look at the following suggestions. Every purchase you make will show how much you care, not only for your loved ones but for the homeless pets that need our help.
Holiday cards
With an original design, each package includes 10 cards and envelopes for only $10. Click here to print out the order form which can be faxed or mailed to us. Phone orders are gladly accepted at (303) 751-5772, Ext. 7222. A variety of holiday cards are also available at the Sit… Stay… Shops at both shelters.

Gift cards
For the person who wants a pet, this is the best way to give one as a holiday gift. Accompany the gift card with a stuffed animal and pet supplies. The recipient can visit us after the holidays to personally select the pet. Gift cards, available for purchase at our shops, also are good for retail items and classes.

Donate to the Pet
Overpopulation Fund through your Colorado State income tax form.
You can also contribute any time directly to the Fund by sending
a donation to 455 Sherman Street, Suite 462, Denver, CO 80203. Checks
should be made out to the Pet Overpopulation Fund. The Colorado
Pet Overpopulation Fund was established by the Colorado Legislature
to promote and fund spay/neuter surgeries and public education for
responsible pet ownership. In 2005, 4,745 spay/neuter surgeries
were performed as a result of the state check off fund. The fund
has surpassed 17,000 spay/neuter surgeries in the three years since
the first grants were awarded.
We have many wonderful gifts available in our Sit… Stay… Shops. Also, you’ll find a wide variety of shirts, hats, coffee mugs, mouse pads, tote bags and much more at our online gift store. They make the “purr”-fect gifts.

Volunteers are very important people at the Dumb
Friends League. As a private, non-profit organization, we rely on
the assistance of caring and hardworking volunteers in all of our
programs. To volunteer,
you must be at least sixteen years old, and willing to make
a six-month commitment of approximately three hours per week.
We have many wonderful career opportunities to work with animals and people. If you love animals and enjoy helping people,
then the Dumb Friends League may have a position for you.
If you see an animal being neglected or cruelly treated,
do you know how to help that animal? What should any Denver metro area
resident do if they suspect that a pet is being abused? The answer is
to contact the Dumb Friends League's Investigations staff.
The Offsite program takes adoptable animals and information to various
locations throughout the community, using our specially designed Pet
Careavan. Click here for upcoming locations.
When you shop at The
Crazy Merchant, you can designate 10 percent of your purchase price
to be donated to the Dumb Friends League. The Crazy Merchant keeps track
of all donations and issues us a check annually that reflects the total
amount given to help the animals. There is no need to sign up, just
head over to The Crazy Merchant in Littleton.

If you enjoy reading, enroll today in the Tattered
Cover Gives Back program. When you designate the Dumb Friends League
as your nonprofit of choice, 1 percent of every purchase will be donated
to us. To sign up for the program, call (303) 322-1965, Ext. 2734. You'll
receive your membership card in the mail along with your instant reward
coupon, good for 10 percent off your next purchase of $25 or more.
