Meet Matt Lenyo
Matt is one of the League's many youth volunteers. He has been with us for close to a year. Matt volunteers his time in the Lost and Found Department and occasionally helps at the kiosk in the main lobby and Companion Corner. "I enjoy getting the chance to work with both animals and humans," Matt says.
Matt loves working in Lost and Found because it gives him the chance to sit with and comfort lost animals. "The animals need lots of love, and being able to comfort them and hopefully see them reunited with their families makes me feel that I am truly making a difference in their lives," Matt said. He also cares for and loves his own pets—Sam the dog, two cats Roxy and Rusty, Dewey the rabbit, parakeets Lucy and Rocky, and a beta fish named Fred.
In addition to volunteering at the League, Matt, a sophomore at Overland High School, is a member in Blazer Buddies and the Youth Advisory Board. Blazer Buddies pairs high school students with elementary school students, and they participate in a different activity together each week. The Youth Advisory Board is a group of students who work to bring speakers to Overland during a week in April to promote educational assets. Additionally, Matt enjoys horseback riding at a local stable whenever he has time.

has really given me an opportunity to see what I want to do with my life, and
I hope to continue volunteering here for as long as I can."
We too hope that Matt will be with the League for a long time, helping to comfort lost animals and reunite them with their families. Thanks Matt, for all of your hard work and dedication to our furry friends.
